You only repay on income above the threshold, not your whole salary — so on Plan 2 at £35,000 you repay 9% of £5,615, about £42 a month. Repayments stop automatically if your income drops below the threshold. If you have both an undergraduate and a postgraduate loan, both deductions apply at the same time.
